Clubs
Longue Vue Club members are able to join a variety of clubs throughout the year. The country club offers sophisticated wine tastings and educational speaker series to adventure fly fishing and social beer tastings. There are many year-round wonderful opportunities to enjoy time with family and friends. Here is just a sample of the diverse activities available to members including, but not limited to, the following:
Book Club
Not sure what the next best seller is all about, want to learn more about your favorite author? The Book Club meets monthly over dinner to discuss some of the most interesting topics. This casual club is held in our beautifully new decorated cocktail lounge. A different book is selected and discussed every month. Bring your reading glasses and your appetite, dinner and beverages are all part of this read.
Cigar Club
Unwind with a nice cigar. Members of the Cigar Club meet monthly to relax, enjoy, and discuss everything from brands of cigars to humidors. Venues include the pool with live music, the putting green with food on the terrace and dining with a Vue on the golf course. Nothing beats a evening with friends and new tastes.
Fly Fishing Club
The outdoors are calling you to attend the Fly Fishing Club. This year-round club meets monthly in the rustic setting of Longue Vue's Shooting Lodge. Learn how to tie a fly, what is the best time to cast your line and where that secret spot to find a rainbow trout is. This club will help you bring out the inner fisherman or woman in you. Club outings to different local steams are part of the experience
Speaker Series
Afternoon and evenings are when distinguished authors, decorated war veterans, leaders of industry, and unique individuals who have a message or story to tell embark on Longue Vue. Different speakers are invited to enrich, entertain, and inform our Members. Depending on the speaker and the popularity the length and the meeting rooms vary.
Vine Club
The Vine Club offers extensive wine tastings for the members, their spouses and guests. This club allows attendees to explore a new region of wineries each month. The purpose is to make exploring wine educational in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Food pairings are selected by the Food and Beverage Manager to complement the wines being tasted. This is our most popular club because of the staffs' attention to every little detail making each meeting a unique and satisfying wine experience.
Wine Dinners
Experience a dining experience like no other. Imagine a spectacular dinner designed and pre-pared by our Master Chief paired with equally superb wine from around the world and you have our Wine Dinners. This culinary delight is like no other you will ever experience. These dinners take extensive preparation and planning so this is an every other month occasion.
Beer Tastings
One of our newest clubs, the Beer tasting club has become an instant sensation. Members are introduced to craft brews from local breweries in and around the Pittsburgh area. Who knew Pittsburgh has at least 57 local breweries. Longue Vue club brings in some of the newest and best samples of each one. The Grill room is the perfect setting for sampling beer and enjoying great conversation with other beer enthusiasts.
Bridge Club
Keep sharp and focused while you enjoy the world's most popular card game with the Longue Vue Bridge Club. The Bridge Club meets in the Grill Room or on the Pink Terrace Thursday mornings. For players wanting to improve their game, lessons are also available.
